Hydroelectricity: new application sheet

Discover, in the new Hydroelectricity application sheet, the challenges and solutions provided by Ultraflux to players in this sector.

Hydroelectricity: a major issue in our society

Renewable Energy remains a major issue for governments in the developed countries. Electricity production by hydroelectric plants is a natural and non-polluting alternative.

Controlling and optimizing the performance of these power plants are therefore essential. In this context, Ultraflux offers a flowmeter capable of measuring the reserved and / or supply flows, dynamically and with a very short response time.

This solution with external, non-intrusive probes allows

– Measure the flow continuously, with a short response time

– Doesn’t modify the installation and thus doesn’t stop processes

– Reduce installation and maintenance costs

Full pipe measurement with intrusive probe

Depending on your needs, Ultraflux can offer full pipe measurement solutions with intrusive probe.

This is the case, for example, at the Laruns dam (64)

In order to permanently control the flow of the fall (height: 107m), the operator of the dam opted for a fixed flowmeter with intrusive probes.

The main advantages of this technology are

– Increased precision with the possibility of parallel multi-strings,

– Compliance with standard IEC 60041 (turbine efficiency control)

– Easy maintenance and low maintenance

Measurement on open channel with submerged probe

Thanks to submerged probes, coupled with precision flowmeters, we guarantee our customers to have a technical solution that meets the ISO 6416 standard.

Its main advantages are dynamic and permanent flow measurement with very low response time, coverage of a measurement range from low water to flood as well as multi-string measurement to increase accuracy and low maintenance.
