These sensors react when the element they are designed to detect comes into contact with them.<br \/>\nThere are several disadvantages to this method:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High installation cost (shut-down of the process and drilling into the pipe, etc.),<\/li>\n<li>Product is in contact with the fluid,<\/li>\n<li>Frequent maintenance is required due to the ongoing collisions,<\/li>\n<li>Breakage risk for the sensor, the sphere and the scraper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This issue affects companies that produce or ship hydrocarbons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Refineries,<\/li>\n<li>Hydrocarbon transportation companies,<\/li>\n<li>Oil rigs,<\/li>\n<li>Engineering firms, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"block\"><div class=\"title\">DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLICATION<\/div><div class=\"text\"><div class=\"text-container\"><p>\nThe probe is installed on the outside of the pipe and attached using a support wrapped around the pipe.\u00a0It sends out a steady ultrasound beam.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1584\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ultraflux.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Sph\u00e8re-et-sonde.jpg\" alt=\"Sph\u00e8re et sonde\" width=\"232\" height=\"86\" \/><br \/>\nWhen a foreign body or a liquid cuts through this beam for a certain period of time, it is recognised as a scraper, a sphere or any other targeted object.
