Interface detector in pipeline
Minisonic ISD detects the changes of products in a pipeline by measuring the speed of sound. The speed of sound is a precise specification of the product and has a correlation to density or concentration.
Minisonic ISD is also a detector of the passage of pigs and spheres in a pipeline by the analysis of the acoustic signal.
The measurement of the speed of sound depends on the temperature and pressure conditions, so it is necessary to use a numeric corrector to obtain the real measurements.

The Minisonic ISD is available in a standard or explosion proof model.
Typical applications
* Measurement of the speed of sound which has a correlation to density and concentration (monitoring of refined oil products transportation)
* Interface detection of products changes
* Detector of the passage of spheres
* All pipe diameter from 4" to 60"
* Programmable measurements : 500 to 2000m/s
* Wide range of measurable fluids
Advantages
* The external probe can be burried without any contact with the liquid
* Easy installation without any break in the pipe
* No break in the process
* Static system without wearing out or servicing
* No pressure drop
* No constraint of right length or probes place
* Fast response time
* Great sensibility
* Great accuracy : speed of sound resolution to +-0.1m/s with a rate of 200Hz
* Cost independant of the pipe diameter
* Possible compensation of pressure and temperature influence
